08/05/2008 - Training Is Over For This Season!

Information for Greenview FC Players

Training for season 2007/08 is now finished!

As you can see from the fixtures we have two more games to play. One is a home game against Carluke on 17/5/08. The other is an away game (yes at Netherpollok!) against Mure Memorial on 24/5/08

Lets keep ourselves in shape for the final push at the end of the season. Our end of season dinner will take place on 3/6/08.  We'll provide an update on this closer to the time.

Thanks for the continued efforts lads. Lets keep the spirit up for the last two games.

10/02/2008 - Injury updates - Hot off the press!

As you know, Greenview have some long term injury woes. Here is an update of those players recovering from injury. Remember these guys in prayer:-

DANNY HUNTER

Due to go for an operation early March. Danny has commented that he would love to be back playing for Greenview before the end of the seaon. This may seem optimistic but hes determined to pull on that Greenview jersey once again.

STUART FRASER

In season 2004-05 Stuart was top goalscorer with 29 goals and was instrumental in Greenview's 2nd place finish in the league. The following year he was second top goalscorer behind the legendary Selwyn McElhinney. Stuart has chronic damage to the ankle ligament (left or right I'm just not sure). Hes had intense physio and a decision will be made next month as to whether he requires surgery. Stuart will likely be out for the next 3 months and may be longer depending on this decision

DAVID STEELE

David picked up ligament damage to the knee and has been out for some time. This man is renowned for his consistency and his ability to pass the ball and actually find a member of his own team! He expected to be back running by now but is at least two weeks away from reaching this stage. He will assess the injury at this point and we hope to see him back soon. Probably at least not until next season but possibly this season.

JONNIE MCKINNON

As you know Jonnie's got a back injury this season.  He played 45 minutes on Saturday morning and felt it.....big time! Hes missed from the team....a former regular whose only played 6 games this season. Jonnie is due for initial treatment with a Physio on Wednesday.

PAUL SMITH

This mans not injured hes just being a full time dad and apparently that lasts the rest of your life so I don't know when we'll see him! Perhaps Dougie, Kev and Sel can offer some useful advice on how to maintain a fatherly bond with your child and play tons of football.

ALAN GUY

Yes thats Guyzo and hes so very near to playing again. Guyzo has been pretty much out of action for the past two seasons. Hes recovering from an ankle injury. He had an operation at the beginning of December and attempted a come back mid January, however, second training session in he twised his knee and will not be back in action until at least the end of March beginning of April. Maybe April 1st would be a suitable day for this fool to start playing again.

08/02/2008 - Fraser Trophy - Quarter Final!

The draw for the quarter final of the Fraser Trophy has just been made and Greenview will play Clarkston FC on the 1 March 2008.

Having built up a reputation in both the Atholl Cup and Fraser Trophy the View are hoping to maintain this season's cup run that has already seen them knock out Glasgow Nazarene and Queens Park Baptist.

This won't be a walk over though as Alan Guy pointed out when interviewed:-

"Clarkston may be a 2nd division side but they're up there challenging for promotion. We won't be under any illusions John, this game will be tough and they'll be as keen as us to reach the semi-final."

To listen to the full interview subscribe to Greenview TV at:-

Subscription is minimal with a one off fee of £150 paid direct to the club.
