07/09/2009 - 2 of 2 - Greenview Players Getting Soaked For A Good Cause

Three thousand people tackled the River Tummel just a little north of Pitlochry to raise funds for a mobile football pitch for Youth for Christ and health education in Papua, Indonesia.

The ‘Tummel’ experience takes you through the rapid “Sharks tooth” and “Zig-Zag” water rapids (Grade 2-3)  and nearing the end there is a two tier 18 foot drop (grade 4) to be negotiated.

Greenview FC's finest were on hand to help raise funds for this project.

07/09/2009 - Greenview Players Getting Soaked For A Good Cause!

On Saturday 28th August, following our first game of the season, some of our squad members got together to tackle the white water rapids of the River Tummel to raise money for a good cause.

Money was raised to help fund a mobile football pitch for the organisation  Youth for Christ. This mobile football pitch will be taken into local communities and used at weekends to help provide activities for youngsters.

Money was also raised to help fund health education for children in Papua, Indonesia.

07/09/2009 - Pre-Season Fitness
Now that the season is underway, perhaps we can encourage you to continue with the pre season fitness regime that started during August. As always, we will be training on Tuesday evenings throughout the season, however, please keep your own personal fitness up and try to maintain match fitness/sharpness. If your looking for a running partner then Mick Cowie is your man!

13/12/2008 - Rawnsley and McConnachie Look to Season 09/10

After deciding to take some time out from Greenview FC, both Phil Rawnsley and Kevin McConnachie have hinted that they may return to action in season 09/10.

Although these reports are speculative at the moment the View would love to see them back at training fighting for a place in the team! Rawnsley is reported to be hammering the fitness with one eye fixed on next season.McConnachie on the other hand has been busy keeping a keen eye on his young family and new job although surely hes missing his football!?

Hope to see you at some point guys!

13/12/2008 - Squad bolstered by new arrivals!

After facing an early injury crisis that was set to rock the season its pleasing to see that the new additions to Greenview FC been making their mark on season 08/09.

Over the past couple of months Greenview have welcomed the arrival of Andy Hay, Jonny McLeish and Hugh Murphy. All 3 have been in action for the View and its good to have them on board.

These additions follow on from the pre season signings of Michael Cowie and Neil McLeod who have also been contributing to the ups and downs of the season so far!

Welcome on board boys. Keep up the good performances.

13/12/2008 - The Walking Wounded Return!

Dougie Scott

After dislocating his shoulder pre-season, vice captain Dougie Scott has been making good progress. Recently making a return to training he seemed to have no problems barging his way through a quick game of 7s! Hopefully we'll see Dougie making a return to action at some point throughout the season.....but for now we'll need to shoulder the burden of his absence!

Danny Hunter

Recently we've been pleased to see the return of Danny Hunter to training after long term injury. Although Danny is still "on the mend" he has been back playing regular football and getting involved in the heavy training regime! Good to see you back Danny.

Willie Dalby

Willie Dalby continues to fight his way back from injury after damamging his knee at the beginning of the season. Hes been seen at the odd training session although he spent his time between the sticks. Willie has been out for nearly four months which is a bit longer than his optimistic prediction of a return in just 3 weeks! We hope to see him back in action soon.

22/08/2008 - Dougie Scott Injury Update

Good news this week that Vice Captain Dougie Scott is now out the sling and has moved on to physio to assist with his recovery. He reckons it may be a few months before he can consider football again but is positive about the progress. We hope to see Dougie down watching the View in action as the season gets underway.

Please remember Dougie in your prayers as well as other guys still on the sidelines with long term injury.

David Steele will not be back playing any time soon, however, Danny Hunter is looking at the end of September for a return to action.

On another note, Stuart Fraser has hung up his Greenview boots and is playing with Westwoodhill this year. Our thanks go out to Stuart for his time at Greenview FC and for the 40 odd goals he scored for the View.

Cheers.

31/07/2008 - Southside Shield 2008/09

SOUTHSIDE SHIELD

Due to the earlier start to league fixtures this season and the availability of grass parks prior to this, it has been decided to put a hold on the traditional pre-season Southside Shield that has been organised by Greenview in the past.

We're now giving consideration to holding the tournament at another point in the season.

This might please last seasons winners Burnside who will be able to hold on to the shield for a little bit longer!

31/07/2008 - McConnachie Takes A Break!

After signing for the red and black army in August 2005, Midfield Maestro Kevin McConnachie has played a key role in the Greenview FC setup. His committment to the team has been commendable and appreciated by all involved.

Due to family committments, Kevin has decided to take a break from playing for Greenview FC for season 2008/09.

We would like to extend our thanks to Kev for the past two years.

Kevin has indicated that he may be back fighting for a place in season 2009/10. Lets hope so!

Cheers Kev.
