There is not much that hasn’t been written about the gaffer over the past ten years. This man has carried View through thick and thin with his energy, enthusiasm, will to win, organisation and desire to see guys know Jesus as their Saviour. It is this last quality that will be his legacy when he hangs up his wallpaper for the last time. Since the team began, Andy has been married, had kids, become a plod and often tried refereeing on many occasions. Who can forget the wallpaper, the dangerous sliding tackles, “OVER ME”, the penalty kicks to the keeper’s left. These are only the things that many of us have seen. I’m sure none of us know the extent to which the Gaffer’s time has been taken up with football, but Eilidh does…One season things got so bad when View were losing home and away, Andy was heard uttering,”... I can’t find anywhere else to play”…It is tribute to him that we are here celebrating ten years of Greenview football team. Without the Gaffer, we would just be sitting around on a Saturday morning getting fat instead of playing football on a Saturday morning getting fat.
